Calling all young Australians (12–25) who have something to say!
Welcome to the AYAC Youth Blog.
We're thrilled to invite young individuals like you to contribute your thoughts to our blog. Whether you're passionate about climate change, mental health, employment, education, justice, or any other issue close to your heart, your unique perspective and lived experience is welcome here.
Submission Guidelines
Topic: We encourage you to select a subject that ignites your passion and resonates with your experiences. Along with your submission, please also include your first name, age and location. Note: Submissions must be original and not previously published elsewhere. We encourage authenticity and fresh perspectives.
Word Count: Aim for an opinion piece between 250-500 words. This allows for a concise yet impactful expression of your thoughts.
Submission: Email your written piece, along with your first name, age and location (e.g. Cameron, 16, Melbourne/Naarm) to info@ayac.org.au with the subject line “Raise Your Voice Submission”.
Publication Process: Our team will review your submission and get back to you within one fortnight. AYAC will publish up to 2 selected submissions per month. Your work will be featured not only on our blog but also across our social media channels and in our members' newsletter. If you’d like to be tagged in your work, let us know your social media handle when submitting.
Honorarium: As a token of appreciation for your contribution, selected submissions will receive a $75 honorarium.
What happens to my submission after publication? Your work remains your intellectual property and if you’d like to share it in other blogs or publications, go right ahead! We just ask that AYAC is credited as the first publisher of the content.
